This form allows you to customize an event. It will change one event at a time. You determine which event to change, by clicking one of the EDIT buttons above. See the following for an explanation of each field. Some events are determined by the server. You cannot change them, but you can create an event to show instead.

check "delete" to remove this event when you click the "change event" button below.

check "hide" so the countdown to this event won't be displayed. The event won't be deleted, just hidden.

check "replace" to replace an existing event with this one. Uncheck to make a copy of this event.

"event name": Enter the name of the selected event. (you can use up to 200 characters). Some HTML entities can be used. Note that changing this will create a duplicate event (unless "replace" is checked above). For safety, the name of an existing event will not be accepted.

"extension": (optional) Text to show (in brackets) after the event name.

"event type":
system: system-defined event. You can't change it but you can replace it with one of your own.
user: user-defined event: you CAN change this.
(section): event for a particular section of the website.
empty: no event here.
if this event overrides another, both sources will be shown here. The first one is the one being displayed/edited.

"on event day message": This message is printed during the event. (you can use up to 200 characters, if nothing is entered here, the event name will be used). Some HTML entities can be used.

"event link": Enter the URL of a web page explaining the event (optional). You can use up to 100 characters.

"event is": There are 2 select boxes here. One shows the days of the week and the other one has 'before', 'on' and 'after'. If your event is on the date you're setting, select 'on' if it's on a specific day of the week, select the day and set 'before' or 'after'.

"date(year)": Select the year of the event. The select box includes the current year as well as the next 100 years. There are also 2 special values you can use:
auto: this automatically selects the year. It uses the current year unless the event has already passed, when it uses next year. This option is good for annual events.
other: this allows use of a different year (see below).

"date(month)": Select the month of the event, or one of these 2 special values:
auto: for automatic month selection (you may want to set year to 'auto' as well).
Easter: this will cause the month and day of easter to be calculated for you (this should be correct for any year not before 1582).

"date(day)": Select the day of the month (1-31), the last day of the month, one of the ordinal days (1st Sun .... last Sat), the last day of the month, or "Easter".

"time(hour)": Select the hour. This box will show either 12-hour or 24-hour time depending on what you have chosen. You can also select 'sunrise' or 'sunset'. Remember to set your latitude and longitude on the clock configuration form. Setting 'sunrise' or 'sunset' overrides the 'minute' and 'second' settings. Setting one of the 'before' settings subtracts minutes and seconds (set both to 0 for 1 hour) from 'sunrise' or 'sunset'. Setting one of the 'after' values adds them.

"time(minute)": Select the minute (0-59).

"time(second)": Select the second (0-59). If you have set 'include seconds' off, this will always be 0 and not shown.

"UTC": check this box it the event time is UTC. Calculations will use the appropriate local time for where you are.

"year" This box allows you to select any year for the event if date(year) is set to "other". Valid years are 101 to 9999. Note that the system uses the Gregorian calendar, and dates before the change (Sep 14 1752 in the US) will not be valid.

"event duration": Enter the number of (days, hours, etc.) this event lasts and select the unit of time to be used (seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years, or millennia). This allows you to enter a time interval from 1 second to 1000 millennia.

1 minute is 60 seconds
1 hour is 60 minutes (3600 seconds)
1 day is 24 hours (86400 seconds)
1 week is 7 days (604800 seconds)
1 month is 1/12 year (30.436875 days, 2,629,746 seconds)*
1 year is 365.2425 days (31,556,952 seconds)*
1 millennium is 1000 years (31,556,952,000 seconds)*

* - note that these odd values are caused by leap years. 365 + (1/4) - (1/100) + (1/400) = 365.2425, and differing month lengths.

"maximum days in advance to show countdown": Enter the number of days (default 30) in advance of the event to start showing a countdown.

Check "deletion reminder" if you want to be reminded after the event is over. Note that there will be no reminder after events that have the year set to "auto".
"days after its over" is how many days (.00001-1000) to wait before giving the above reminder.

If event display is disabled, you will be asked if you want to enable it.
